Ski lodge & restaurant
Homemade, local specialties conjured up from regional produce
During the day, Almstube ranks among the most popular ski lodges of Turracher Höhe, being the winner of the first ski hut contest in 2010. Besides its fantastic location at the heart of the ski resort and the sun-soaked terrace of this lodge, Almstube has achieved its popularity by offering great food in a rustic ambience and a staff that has been hand-picked for its friendliness.
Hosts Susi and Peter Pertl are dedicated to offering a wide variety of typical delectable ski lodge dishes topped with a selection of creative homemade recipes such as the “Alpine hay soup“, an Almstube original that gets its distinctive flavor from the hay of the Nockberge national park. Other specialties include the “Bürgermeisterteller“, a beef roast or the delicious T-bone steak, both from the regionally bred Nockberge Almrind. Whether classic, creative or local – you’ll love them all: pan dishes such as “Lustige Sennerin“ (spare ribs, chicken skewer, potato wedges), “Skifahrerpfandl“ with Nockberge Almrind beef or a choice of baked potatoes.
Converted into a refined restaurant in the evening, Almstube lodge blends an ambience of contentment and warm country hospitality where guests enjoy their dinner. Visitors who appreciate fine food will be picked up by innkeeper Peter Pertl himself and taken to Almstube with the skidoo. The culinary week starts on Sunday with a festive dinner. On Wednesday guests join in for an evening of fine Italian wine and food and on Friday a themed farmer’s buffet offers delectable regional specialties. The remaining days guests have delicious menus to choose from while visitors dining à la carte make their selection from the dinner menu card.
